Strubel Brewing Company

Strubel Brewing Company calls itself South Dakota’s Capital City Brewery. It is run in Pierre by husband-and-wife team Tom and Jadie Strubel. The business opened as a homebrew shop in 2019, began brewing commercially in 2020, and has since started distributing its beer across South Dakota. The brewery runs a one-barrel Blichmann system that yields about 31 gallons per batch, a truly small-batch operation. Styles range from dark to light and change with the seasons, and the tagline is Big Bold Beer. The TapHaus seats about 40 at the bar and in the Bavaria Room and Black Forest Room. It pours Strubel beer alongside other South Dakota beer and wine and offers a small menu of German-inspired snacks. A full-service homebrew shop sells equipment and ingredients for beer, wine, cider, mead, kombucha and other ferments, and it specializes in helping beginners get started.
