Crow Peak Brewing Company

Crow Peak Brewing Company is a production brewery and taproom in Spearfish that opened in spring 2007. It started as a five-barrel brewery selling pints on site and 64-ounce growlers to go. Demand led to a new brewery building in December 2009. In 2010 the brewery installed a 30-barrel brewhouse with larger fermenters and an automated canning line, which allowed it to sell both draft and packaged beer. By 2015 Crow Peak was producing 2,000 barrels a year and distributing its beer in five states: South Dakota, Wyoming, North Dakota, Nebraska and Minnesota. A 2018 expansion raised capacity to about 5,000 barrels a year. Its flagship is 11th Hour IPA, and the tap list runs from porter and cream ale to a gose, a spruce tip ale and a Norwegian-style IPA. The taproom hosts live events and a beer festival, and the brewery now owns a PIT-14 franchise location.
