Ben’s Brew Station

Ben’s Brew Station is the home of Ben’s Brewing Co. in Yankton. Founder Ben Hanten started the business in 2005 with a small downtown bar meant as a gathering spot for good people and good beer. In 2020 the company moved into the historic Freeman Company building on Walnut Street. The 28,500-square-foot space houses a production brewery, a taproom and a community space under one roof. The taproom pours more than two dozen beers, most of them brewed on site. From spring through fall, food trucks visit on weekends; live music is common on Fridays and Saturdays, and pinball and arcade games are available year-round. The brewery also offers tours and takes part in beer festivals. Ben’s beer is sold across South Dakota in restaurants, liquor stores and grocery stores. Beer can be preordered for pickup, and apparel can be shipped. The brewery’s motto is When You’re Here, You’re Local.
