Eponymous Brewing Co

Eponymous Brewing Company is a small brewery in Brookings that Kyle McElhany and Sean Weber started as a passion project. McElhany has a background in microbiology and Weber in business, and they formed the company in 2017 out of a shared love of craft beer. After securing a space in the Lofts at Main, they built out a two-barrel nanobrewery that began production in March 2018. Both the name and the beer center on identity. The brewers incorporate local and regional ingredients, including grains, fruits, hops, wild yeast and bacteria, and barrels from regional wineries. They pair time-tested techniques with modern brewing science to create new offerings. Beers are numbered releases and are available fresh from the source at the taproom on Main Avenue South. The brewery’s tagline is Handcrafted with Identity, and it also sells merchandise and gift cards.
