Cohort Craft Brewery

Cohort Craft Brewery is a Black Hills brewery with two locations, in Rapid City and Hill City. It pours its own craft beer along with mead, and it says it is the one brewery in the Black Hills that keeps mead on tap at all times. Small-batch brewing keeps turnover quick and the beer fresh. Cohort keeps its distribution limited and skips middlemen, so most beer is poured a few feet from where it is made. The tap list also includes one-offs and experimental passion projects. The Rapid City taproom is set up as a neighborhood hangout, while the Hill City location focuses on mountain views and post-hike pints. Food comes from rotating food trucks and from the Prairie Dog. The owners say they built Cohort to feel like the community’s brewery as much as their own. The brewery also posts events and runs a blog called Hop Topics.
